Where are running Exchange 5.5 on Windows 2000. During normal operation users are receiving a pop-up stating request of data from Microsoft exchange server. We have 5 servers on the network and the request is for servers that the users are not loaded on. Some are for servers that no longer exist on the network. This process is slowing down thier email. Anyone have any ideas. Upper bosses are getting frustrated. Thanks.

It also appears that the IP address was statically saved and they had not deleted. Which was giving us DNS issues. But now we think we got it down. Thanks.

Still receiving this pop-up. For one user it will come from 3 different servers. I have tried outlook.exe /CleanFreeBusy and /CleanViews. I am waiting to see if they work.

Those do not seem to be working. I am thinking that since our public folders is only replicated on 2 of the 4 servers that the users accessing public folders may be causing the excess network traffic. We are considering replicating all public folders across all 4 servers. Has anyone else had to do this?

Hi DestinysDream,

I have the same problem, also with Exchange 5.5. Have you found a solution yet?

If so could you please mail me on allan@amvia.com, thanks a mil.

This seems to be designed for it to tell you this. The only real answer is more bandwidth. Sorry

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.

I can replicate this issue when my client has external DNS server set as a Primary DNS. Is your internal DNS working properly? Check TCP/IP properties of your clients, they may be configured manually with incorrect DNS values.

I will look into that.
