Is there any setting in Win2K that can be changed to block or limit pop-up ads?

No, but you can use Mozilla Firebird and get it included in the browser.

mentioned above and its working very nice. while as mentioned by MitchCumstein, i installed it before and it was doing the great job as well, so you can install any one or both. its up to you, Both work great.
