I have limited experience with Pocket PC's -- way cool, but as you know, they have serious resource limitations.

As you know, they run Windows CE as their operating system - a light weight to the full blown Windows.

When searching for your database, please consider...
- Type of database(s) you will be using - number of records, size of records
- Memory, memory, memory. Max up on RAM. It is fortunate that Pocket PC's can use their memory card with flash drive space (256 MB, maybe 512 MB), but the RAM in the PC may be a very limiting factor.

Also, if this is a manufacturing solution, consider using a Terminal or Citrix server - the Pocket PC links to the Terminal or Citrix server, and the server does the work. You can link to the LAN via a wireless ethernet card.

Like I said, way cool, but try and think of where any limited resources may hinder you.

BTW, all three of the links I tried on your post failed (tonight).

Richard,

Sorry for delayed response. Thanks for the info. I am just
interested in using a pocket pc database mostly for access
away from my notebook pc. Anyone familiar with

Kai's Access Manager 2004 6.2

Data On The Run 4.04

Pocket Database 4.1

SprintDB Pro 2.2

Thanks,

John
