POA

I have a Novell 6 server with GroupWise 5.5 that constantly is receiving the following error on the POA.

Receiver Thread Started: 2 running
Terminating Receiver Thread: 1 running

Things are running rather poorly. Any suggestions.

This might be due to a communication problem between the POA and the MTA. Are they running on the same server? Do you only have one instance of the MTA running? How do they communicate?

I have looked at both TIDs before. Not very helpful. I haved the MTA and POA on the same server. However, the POA has it's own network card to help eliminate traffic. In NWAdmin it shows the MTA network address with port 7100 - it shows the POA network address with port 1677 but show it's MTA port as 7101???? Is this correct? Help!

Yeah, I thought those TID's were a long shot, but I figured "what the heck".

In your POA, the client/server Port should be 1677. The IP address for the POA should be xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:7101. The IP address for the MTA should be xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:7100. These are what the defaults are set to. This looks like it's correct on your system.

What type of link do you have? Is it TCP/IP, Mapped, or UNC? I'm under the assumption that it is set to TCP/IP.

I'm running out of ideas. Perhaps someone else has run into this problem and can help a bit more than me.

One more thing: Do you have the most recent service pack installed? If not, I would highly recommend installing it.
