I do not know Framemaker hardly at all.

I need to edit the headers and Table of content in a file but I can not get them to highlight to drop in my new text.

I didn't build the files my client did.

there is a TOC file that has the same content as the header
(I assume that they are linked)

I have know clue were to start. I've tried to go into the master page and reference page and no luck there.

If anyone could get me going in the right direction I will be greatfull.

If you need more background info about the files please let me know.

Thank you

I can help, but I am going into the hospital, If you do not have an good answer when I get out I will help.
Advanced FrameMaker by Kay Ethier, Robert Kern, Bradley Anderson, and Bernard Aschwanden is worth every nickel.

Adobe's user guide is good too.

FrameMaker is much better than word, however the startup curve is steep.
