Hi,
First, I'm runing a *non clustered* Win 2003 server. When I go into the Component Services mmc module, I see the red down-arrow on the 'My Computer' icon under Component Services.

When I click on it or on the Com+ folder below it, I get the error:
An error occurred while processing the last operation.
Error Code 8004E00F The Com+ application was unable to talk to the Distributed Transaction Coordinator.

I tried to research this error and everything I find points to a known issue on a *clustered* windows 2000 server, but I've got a non-clustered 2003 server.

All services that I can think of related to this are running--anything with 'COM' in the name, the MSDTC service, anything that looks even remotely like it might be related to this msdtc is set to Automatic and Started.

Can anyone help with this please?
Thanks,
--Jim

...deeper Google searching found a fix. For anyone reading this thread with the same problem, below is where I found the fix:

It basically says to:
1. In Add Windows Components, remove Network DTC from the Application Services section.

2. In Cmd prompt, do MSDTC -uninstall

3. Go into the registry and remove the MSDTC keys in HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Software/MSDTC and HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/MSDTC

4. Reboot

5. In Cmd prompt, do MSDTC -install

6. Add Network DTC back in the Add Software/Windows components.

This worked for me.
