Hi There

I am wondering if anyone can help me. I have a set up with 1 master server and 7 target servers. The Master server went down earlier on today and had to be rebuild. After SQL was installed I restored the msdb backup to restore my jobs on the master server, however now none of the target servers will download, not even when I force a poll. The following error is appearing in the error logs in the Target Servers

[298] SQLServer Error: 229, EXECUTE permission denied on object 'sp_sqlagent_probe_msx', database 'msdb', owner 'dbo'. [SQLSTATE 42000] (DownloadMSXInstructions)

What login should I give Execute to ? Does it have anything to do with the TargetServersRole in the msdb database on the target server ?

If anybody has any advice I would be very grateful !

Hi Again

I just want to say, forget about the above question as I have since managed to sort it myself.
I deleted the download instructions waiting to post then
I defected the target servers from the master, re-enlisted them and re-inserted the target server name in the jobs and *hey presto* they posted
