softwares which has intermediate restarting in their installation process can not be packaged properly.the first part of the installation contains installation of borland database engine driver , after which it restarts the the server .The package is never working correctly...
Any tips to support ???
please help

What you can do here is:

First package and install the BDE (Borland Database Engine). Finish this package then reboot. You can download the BDE installer software from Borland. I believe it's free.

Next package your software. It will notice the installed BDE and doesn't need to do that in the install process. You do not have to reboot the server because the BDE is already present and running. The additions in the BDE do not require a reboot.

You have to document for your self that before you rollout the software package, you first rollout the BDE package.

Hope this helps.

I have tried to package BDE separately. During the recording process ,it never finished itself, so at last I have to select "stop recording". But when I am pushing the package to install the BDE to other server it is failing , stating "unspecified Error".It is BDE version 5. Should I try a newer BDE ?But I am unable to package BDE , although I am restarting the server after packaging completion.
pls help if you have any other views ...
