Hi

I am looking at the cards the PRI's connect to, they are NTBR21 TMDI cards, we have 8.

When i stat in ld 60 i have 8 loops.

When i stat dch in ld 96 I have:

DCH 010 : DSBL RST AUTO DES : VDCH
DCH 015 : OPER EST STBY AUTO BKUP 016 DES : 01IPCD960645
DCH 016 : OPER EST ACTV AUTO PRIM 015 DES : 01IPCD960645

I know that 01IPCD960645 is my circuit number

Of the 8 cards all have act light solid green
2 have DCH light solid green, 1 has CC solid green.

Should all cards have a dch?
What does the CC light mean?

I read NTP 553-2901-301 how to configure ISDN
DTI/PRI on Meridian 1 Option 11C systems,

Also read PRI Feature, PRI Maintenance

but i still cannot understand the relationship of PRI and DCH

could someone pls explain

Thanks,

Trevor

all cards to not need a DCH, you have a primary and a secondary in this config, I would say that if you would post a:

REQ: PRT
TYPE: ADAN DCH 15

from LD 22

You'd see a PRI, which would show you all of the loops that are using the dch's

The cc is a clock controller, in an Option 11, there usually is only one.

This shows you that loops 1,2,5,6,7 and 8 are all using the d channels. Your primary dch is on loops 3 and the back up is on loop 4....

one d will control 23 pri's.. no one pushed them that hard.

here's the short course,, lod t'1.. 1.54 meg, 24 channels each channel was 64 kb with 8 kb for overhead.. 8 times 24. 264 kb overhead.

never tech.. pri// 1.54 kbs.. 64 kb per channel, one channel for overhead.. saves bandwidth and one 64 kb (64,000 bits per sec) will control 24 squared voice channels.

the t1 was inband, (within the bandwidth), pri is outband. you can dis dch x on a working pri and the calls will not drop.. that is only used for setup and teardown of calls..

that posted adan controls

05 2
06 3
01 4
02 5
07 6
08 7

plus the one it's stat on, pri 1.. not that bad if you have 30 or 40 pris, with 7 pris per d.. if you only have 7 pri's. one bad msdl can put you out of service
