Hi guys,

I need your advise on how to remove or get rid of BOPDATA located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Network Associates\BOPDATA\_Date-20050803_Time-103932000_EnterceptExceptions.dat C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Network Associates\BOPDATA\_Date-20050803_Time-103932000_EnterceptRules.dat

We are currently using epo 3.5 and mcafee 8.0i version. Are these files and what services they used / are they important or are they BUGS on the software and why they are in used if you try to delete them.

Anyone had these files on their servers?!?

Please help...

Thanks in advance,

I believe the folder you mentioned relates to the Buffer Overflow Protection feature of VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i. On my PCs that have that feature enabled, yes, the folder and its contents do exist.

I haven't seen the need to delete the folder nor do I know what impact there would be if I was to delete it. I assume if you don't plan on using the Buffer Overflow Protection feature and have disabled it, it may be OK to delete it...again, just a pure guess as to whether or not it is safe to delete.

when you do a remote install of macafee - it places these directories there so that it can do a local install - instead of copying across the wire

it's only 100mb or something - so in these days of 80gb drives and all data being held on servers - it's not an issue - just leave it
