Playing XVID.Ac3.avi file no sound

In XP with DIVX ac3 codec and DIVX, or Winamp, I can view and hear a movie file with a XVID.AC3.AVI file extension.

Initially got Audio tag 8192 error. But codec corrected issue in XP.

Tried same thing in Windows 2000 Pro and without codec, I can play video but no sound. After installed Ac3 codec from DIVX I can't play the file at all. No video or Audio.

Any ideas on why I cannot play this file within Win 2000 ?
