Can I play DVDs in Windows Media Player 10 (with a DVD-ROM Drive) without having to buy seperate software?

I'm pretty sure you can't. WMP 10 adds better jukebox functionality and a smoother interface for use on portable devices. Other than that, it's pretty identical to WMP 9.

So if I download one of the DVD Decoders from the website you gave me, I don't need to buy a DVD Software Package to play DVDs?

There are several free software programs on the net you can use instead to play DVD's. Search on google.com using: mpeg-2 free decoder

This was one of the first hits I came across:

...and for future reference, you may want to post software related questions like this in another forum (such as WinXP if that's what you have). This one is for hardware.
