I'm an IT tech for a group of 100 or so. Some of the older Dell system don't have sound cards. In NT and 2000 the users could play audio CDs in the CD player even without a sound card. Now that we've upgraded to XP, I haven't found a way to let them do this. Anyone know a trick?

Without a sound card you want to play sound? Are you talking about through the headphone jack on the CD-ROM drive?

Please be more specific.

Yes, sorry! The headphone jack on the CD-ROM. They just want to play an audio CD.

Didn't work either. Thanks, but I'd actually tried that on my own. The discs still want to play in media player, which needs a sound card to play anything...
