playback stutters, does not export

When I imported a couple of short avi clips to a three minute photo sequence, the music track as well as the video began to get stuck, especially as it nears the moving clips. Also, I cannot export to video--says disk is full, when I have 30 gigs of space and 512 ram. Can you help me? I am using pro 7.0, but the same thing happens on 6.5 with this project. My clips were shot and imported with a Sony digital 8mm cam. Thank you!!!

I have the same problem importing video to 6.5 on a Toshiba p24-s676 (gig ram, twin hard drives (7200RPM Hitachi Travelstar for the capture disk) P IV 3.4 HT with service pack 2 installed. Is there any solution other than uninstalling spk2?
