Hi guys,

I have a asus p5w deluxe motherboard, which has 8 audio inputs on the whole and supports 5.1 sound. The realtek audio manager has the ability to create 2 audio playback devices in vista; one for the rear panel, and one for the front panel.

I was wondering if its possible to create another playback device in vista (almost a virtual playback device) to break down the rear connectors into the ones connected to my surround sound, and the ones for my standard speakers.

Any ideas?
Thanks simon

As far as I know that would be down to the drivers not Vista or 3rd party software. As there are so many motherboards with onboard sound and individual sound cards it would be pretty hard for someone to write an application that could seperate the inputs like you want that would work across the board.

Might be worth checking out realtek's site and if they do not have updated drivers that can do this you could suggest it to them.
