Is there a way to make IP Office/VM Pro play a daily wav file for lunch break over the paging system? They miss their Fred Flintstone whistle from the old building.

I cannot figure out how to kick it into action.

I have post dial working for weather alerts already over the paging system. I have tried using conditions, alarm, and clock in VM Pro with no luck.

It is a IP500 with 4.0(10) with VM Pro.

Thanks,
Frank

You could try a post dial action and a weekplanner condition
Set this condition for the weekdays at lunchtime and let it end 1 minute later
Put in the right text at thepostdial action and it should work

I have done that. But time goes by and the system does nothing. I cannot figure out what will make it start itself.

I can dial a short code and then it will work. But not on its own.

Thanks,
Frank

The longer i think about it the more i think it can not be done whit vmpro without dialing in to it

You could try to make a little program that dials a number wich is forwarded to your shortcode
A pc can do that with time

you could use an announcement software package which will connect directly to the paging system

and announce various messages at set times.

Or you could use an automated call out dialer program which can either initiate vmpro to play a wav or play an announcement itself.

both options will do what you need...

Im not in the office to test this out at the moment but have you tried using the Alarm Set Action in VMPro. The only down side to this is someone would have to set the alarm everyday, once the alarm goes off it deletes itself. You can set up multiple alarms though so you can do it monday morning say and set the alarms for everyday that week.

For a solution that will just keep working, buy an Altronix timer and connect it to a speaker with tone generator. I love IP Office, but there are some applications where "traditional" methods just work best.
