Has anybody come across this error before? What does it mean?

0 _LX 3 WRN N Tue May 18 06:27:03 CDT 2010 OVERLOAD CONTROL LEVEL 1

Initcauses:
Software Request 1 no Active 05/18 06:27

CM 5.2.1 s8730's

I take it CM reloaded... but what overloaded? It hasn't done the same since it occurred.

Thanks,

Wildcard

Software requested 1 is a warm start, not a reload.
This is usually caused by a bug in the software. Make sure you are on the latest supported SP.

This software update applies to the Avaya Communication Manager 5.2, S8300, S8400, S85xx Series, S87xx Series and S8800 Servers only.

NOTE: Early versions of Netscape may not properly configure the software image file when you save it from the web site. If the file size seems to be only about 1 KB then the file was not saved correctly. The fix for this is to upgrade to the latest version of Netscape, or use Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Thanks AvayaTier3. We are on 02.1.016.4-17959 I'll patch it ASAP.

Any issues with SP2 that I should know about? Other than what is listed in the known problems? Any hardware firmware dependencies?

Thanks again,

Wildcard

CM5.2.1 is a little buggy. You can often isolate the specific issue if you go back into the log files on the web browser, check everything you can on the top half, change the number of lines output to 5000 and start about 5 minutes before the reset and go through the logs one minute at a time to see where the system started to burp. The reset time of 06:27 is a little odd. Not typically during your maintenance window but you might want to 'display system-parameters maintenance' just to see where your window is.

You also have the capability to set up an external syslog. If you use a Linux syslog server you need to modify the generic startup script to add the -r option.
