Hi

Has anyone ever tried having all the .dlls for their vb app placed in the same folder as the app. files? When I packaged my program the .dlls are automatically sent to the Windows/System directory. Before changing the target directory of .dlls, I would like to know if there are any problems I can expect.

Any input would be appreciated

As long as the dll is registered on that machine it can reside anywhere on that machine. Generally, I'll put all of my app-specific dlls in the app folder and other generic dlls in system folder or the common files folder.

Hope this helps!
Josh

Thanks Josh,

When you say, "app-specific dlls", do you mean dlls that you created to be used in your application?

By app-specific files i'm refering to any dll, ocx or other file that was created to be used solely by your application.
