I am wondering if it is a crime to place a Layer over top of a Table? Will there be any positioning issues?
What kind-of other issues can you run into using layers everywhere, for individual images, text, etc. ?

I'm new to Dreamweaver and HTML, so I usually layout sites with a bunch of Layers and tables here and there.

the only problem with layers are that they are absolute, ie they float so if the user were to increase thei system resolution the layer may seem lopsided. personally i would avoid floating layers unless necessary...

Known is handfull, Unknown is worldfull

I found a great way to work with layers -
projectseven.com
look for Layout Designer 2. Using this extension you can place layers dynamically, according to the user's browser size(resolution).
It replaces the need to use tables.
