I think i'm doing something wrong... and I just don't know how to explain it... I don't recall having this issue with the 506 units.

Anyhow, set both sides, send some interesting traffic, tunnel comes up. seems after a while it drops off, usually when there is no traffic. Make sense? I can see in the logs when the link is reestablished.

Is there a setting to get the vpn's to stay up permanently? Or a way to tweak it... I have a couple of clients that are complaining about this.

An example? 2 pix 501 units, site to site tunnel, static IP's and stable internet on both ends. Client connects to server via RDP, when not in use the tunnel drops off. First connect attemp brings up tunnel, second connection attempt, RDP works.

Thanks.

Think I got it anyhow... It was the timeouts on the dlink side of the tunnels... That combined with a terrible internet connections and mtu settings anywhere from 900 to 1200. :(
