Hi, I am using a PIX 501 and have multiple static IP addresses from my cable service provider. I have an application server that needs to be configured with one of the static IP addreses. I cannot use static mapping to my internal network for this server application.

How can I configure the pix so that my application server can use a public ip address? I would like to send all traffic directly to the server.

Thanks!

Why can't you use a static? Your scenario is what they are made for.

I don't really get it either. I currently have it set that way. I am using a VoIP application and I do not get audio. The phone registers, but nothing else. I looked in the product installation manual and the vendor stated that if the server did not specifically have the publically routed address, symptoms would be one-way or no-way audio.

Any help or insight you could provide would be much appreciated.

Thanks again!

Well even once you give it a static you have to open ports via an access-list.

We've decided to go another route. We have another Internet circuit that is hooked to a router/firewall that has a dedicated DMZ port. I'm going to send the traffic through that connection.
