Pix 501 Telnet & PDM

Hi, everyone I have a question for you guys. I got a brand new pix firewall and I setup the inside and ouside ip's on it and I can ping the firewall from the inside no problem. But when I try to telnet into it or try to connect to the PDM it will not let me is there something else I have to do inorder to telnet or connect to the PDM ? I know I have to use "https" but still it does not work.

ok I figured out how to setup telnet that was a no brainer. But I still need help to access the pdm using internet explorer. So if anyone out there know please let me know how to do this.

ok here we go... you need to enter the following commands:

hostname <pix-name>
domain-name <your-domain>
enable password <password>
http server enable
http <subnet> <mask> inside or any other interface


do a &quot;show ca mypubkey rsa&quot; if you are able to see a key then that's it. If you do not see a key then you need to generate one:

ca generate rsa key <size>
ca save all

that's it you're set. Open a broser and type

https://<interface-ip>
