Hello Everyone,
Please excuse my ignorance with this question, here goes..
I have a broadband ADSL modem which has two connections. One RJ11 connector for the ADSL phone line and one USB connector for my PC. This works and allows my pc on the internet with broadband.
However, i now have a PIX 501 firewall and wish to use this for securing my broadband.
I am happy setting up the inside interface with an IP address but how do i set up my outside IP address?
Currently my broadband modem gets connects with a outside IP address sourced from my ISP and i guess i can use that as the default route on the PIX 501. However, don't i need another outside IP address to assign to the PIX outside interface?...
i.e Pix outside : 199.199.199.1
routing to my ISP address 199.199.199.2
...I thought i would only have 1 outside ip address 199.199.199.2.
Please can anyone advise on how i can replace my broadband modem with my new pix 501?
Thanks for reading and any help would be much appreiated.
Regards,
Grasscutter.
