When I use a pivot table to display some data. When the data range I use is 10k rows by 2 coloumns it behaves incorrectly. It doesn't display anything when I refresh it... Any ideas why?

Cheers,

Chris

I noticed putting 9500 rows made the pivot table fail. Futhermore, when you reduce the rows back to 20 the pivot table doesn't recover. Any ideas?

Memmory is 100Mb (So not particularly high).

It doesn't break per se, but it displays differently. Before I could display the elements now it just shows a count and I didn't choose any other options + I turned autoformat off.

Also a heading "Total" all of a sudden pops up (which wasn't there before...)

If anyone else has this issue you can see the below:

Maximum Number of Items per Pivot Field
There is a limit of 8,000 unique items per row field, column field, or page field. If you try to drop a field into your PivotTable that exceeds this limit, the field will not be added to the PivotTable, and you may receive the following warning message:
A field in your source data has more unique items than can be used in a PivotTable. Microsoft Excel may not be able to create the PivotTable or may create the PivotTable without the data from this field.
