Ping returns no hostname 1

OK, might be a simple one or an impossible one, I'm not sure.

I'm trying to do an overview of our network (setup before I came here) and I'm starting with a list of static IP's. I've got most of them in the internal range, but a few of them ping with a reply but do not resolve (I'm assuming they are print servers or something).

Is there ANY way that I can find out roughly what they are before I have to trail around the place looking for them?

Mark,

If you can find the MAC addresses of the IP's, you can go to

http://coffer.com/mac_find/

and enter the first six numbers of the MAC and it will tell you the manufacturer of that network card. This might be useful.
