ping nameservers

Hi,
Today i registered a new domain name. I believe its still under propagation. Hopefully would be up by tomorrow. On whois.com it does show it has been registered.
My concern is that the name-servers that the webhost provider has given me they are not reachable. i.e. i cannot ping them i cannot even find them on tracert. There are 3 of them and none reachable. Any clue what might be happening is this meant to be?.

The hoster could block ICMP traffic to their servers.

Try sending a DNS query to them using nslookup or dig.
