Hi. the vista's wired and wireless don't work.
i try to rebuild tcpip because ping 127.0.0.1 failed.
So, i do netsh int ip rest reset.log
and tried reset winsock
doing reset tcpip failed. so i use another way to reset it by delete registry. I deleted tcp/ip and dhcp registry also. i followed the instruction from third resource on the web to delete registry.
now dhcp client don't start automatically and can't even start.
i try sfc /scannow and found corrupted file, but the command is unable to recovery.

i trid restore to previous state and got DHCP client works.
However, it still doesn't get IP address. i give it a static ip and ping anything. It get general failure.
i reset tcpip and winsock but still ping general failure.
anything else i can do about it./

Did what BadBigBen suggested work? Is the NIC built into the motherboard or an add in? Delete it using Device Manager. If it's an add in, remove and reseat it. It your pc doesn't find it on rreboot, do a hardware rescan. You may also want to re-install the drivers.

Almost sounds like a dead NIC, esp. if you can't ping 127.0.0.1
