Hey guys, I need help! I had an old PIII 450 processor and decided to use that to build myself a new machine. Got a motherboard (Acorp) for it, and all the necessary parts (CDRom, floppy, 8Mb PCI Video card, and 128 MB RAM, 15Gb WDigital 5400HDrive, and 230Watts case) and set it up. Booted and Installed Win98SE fine, without any glitch. But during my Office installation, the PC just hung. Everything stopped, mouse cursor, keyboard etc, and nothing would be happening again. The screen is still on, all the lights as well, but just everything stopped responding. I Rebooted, and managed to install office fine this time, but hang some time later while I was setting up something else. I've rebooted several times, and it hangs just randomly, it doesn't seem to be for any particular reason. But one thing I've noticed is that if I boot the PC, and don't do nothing, just leave it like that, it doesn't hang until I start doing stuff on the PC, i.e. run Word or Excel, or IE and stuff like that.

I've upgraded the BIOS and the drivers for the MB, but still happening. I've swapped RAM chips as well, and didn't make any difference whatsoever.

Anyone has an idea of what the problem could be and why this can be happening.

Thanx!

Do you have a cpu & case fan?

It could be heat related.
