PICTURES WITH 256 COLORS

With AGP card Riva TNT2 pro 32mb, The Clipper & LLibG.Lib picture in 800x592x256 colors can not be displayed, but it can display with PCI VGA card S3/Trio 1mb or S3/Savage 2mb or TSeng 6000/6100 PCI 2mb. WHY?
