Pictures not shown offline

When i am trying to view a website offline, the pictures are not shown. Even single .gifs or .jpegs (associated with ie) are replaced by a "red cross". If i click on "show picture" nothing happens. What's wrong?

The easiest way to make sure you can see a webpage offline. Is load the webpage, then go to file->save as-> Make sure it saves as Webpage Complete. This will put all the images in a direcotory so you can view them when you are not connected to the internet....
