Picture and Fax Viewer Slideshow Doesn't Work

I have a folder with multiple .JPG files that were written to CD via XP's "Write Files to CD" feature. When I insert the CD I select the option to "View as Slideshow with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer." When I click the OK button nothing happens and nothing show in Task Manager. What's up???

To expand on my curiosity question, I believe what was suggested and what solved the problem was registering a DLL file. Until recently I was able to view slideshows. What could have caused the DLL to become "unregistered" or whatever? My concern is that the situation could occur again.

Yes, that is re-registering the main P&F Viewer dll. It's tough to say how it could have gotten broken - any number of things could have caused it.
