Hi all,
I have a phpMyAdmin ver 2.5.6 problem. I have never used it before so when I use the browser and go into the directory where it resides I got the MySQL error Access Denied using password no. reading the documentation I found that I need to edit the config.inc.php file. My problem is that there is different parts of it that which refer to some password or another, I have tried altering various variables but have had no luck could someone please show point me to a decent tutorial on setting up phpmyadmin as the docs on the site are fairly vague or show mw which line to edit. I would prefer the tut though as google seems to show lots of tut but they require payments.

Questions:
1. Have you created a user with the password you are using and given access to the MySQL server?
2. If so, have you "flushed" the privileges on your MySQL installation?

ascikey,

In PhpMyAdmin, you need to define the host name, user name, ad depending on your authetication method, possibly the password in the config.inc.php. The host name and user name must match a valid MySQL user account.

As far as which variables to change, the host name, user name, authentication method and password are near the top of the file, and commented as to what needs to be specified for each variable.
