phpbb, Mandrake and Sql

We are running Mandrake 8 on our servers. Have MySql 3.x. The question i have is we already have phpbb 1.4 installed. I am creating another web site, but for the forums i am going to use phpbb 2.0. I went into phpbbadmin and created a seperate db. Can i install phpbb 2.0 on this seperate db and not mess anything up with the phpbb 1.4?? Or will it really mess me up??
