I just installed another true type font on my harddisk but when I try to choose the new font in photoshop 6 I can not write with it, only with the pre-installed fonts.
Can anyone help?
You may need to reboot/restart for the system settings to validate the newly installed font type? That would be my first guess....and no doubt by now you have done that one way or the other. Did it work?
I have had this problem - apparently photoshop 6 had a different way of managing fonts (maybe a worse way!). It loads fonts from your system folder up to a certain level of memory use - then it stops! If you want to be sure that photoshop will load your font before all the other system fonts you need to copy it from the system fonts folder:
C:\WINDOWS\FONTS
it into the photoshop fonts folder which will be something like:
Thanks for your replies but I still could not get it to work.
When I select the font and try to write it switches to another font.
The only thing I can do is marking the text (highlighting) then choose the new font.
@gollyg: I could not find the fonts folder in my photoshop folder.
