I have recently taken over as a system manager of a large convention hotel. This hotel has a Nortel meridian phone system running 25.0x software. There is a pbx terminal and a row of large cabinets that house all the cards. Ithink there is 8 or so that have the first party of the TN on them. I'm new to the phone system and have been googling for most of my commands for the tedius process of moving phones and changing rollover info and such... In one cabinet there is a PC looking device with a floppy and cdrom and several optical storage disks. My question is: is there anything I need to do to back this system up? I notice the wakeup card has 2 pcmcia harddrives and one says backup. I'm wondering about the rest of the system. It would be one huge mess if everything needed reprogrammed. I was told before I started we had a contract with a monthly company to do maintenance but thats no longer the case.

I will try to post exact names of the cabinet and pc tomorrow when I get to work.

Thanks for your time and info,
Brian

best thing to post for an id is ld 22 prt cequ... ld 43 edd, does a back up to the hd and one floopy, ld 135 scpu swaps cpu's and then ld 43 edd backs up the other drive and floopy... put a pc with procomm on the system instead of the default dumb term.. leave it on, back the screen up and look at the midnight routine... it should do one back up, and one scpu by itself every night... ld to load 135 and do a stat cpu... should have two of everything.. all enabled, half in standby... go to 137 and do a stat... rdun needs to say enabled...that is very important on that system... go to ld 81 cnt (count) or lst (list) then at the feat prompt, sets...helps with seeing what your starting with... ever morning before traffic.. i install two need disk, edd scpu edd... have a set for each day of the week.. if i need to i can restore to any day of the week for the past 7 days...also your mail ? is it in a grey cab.. mer mail, usually... backs up to a tape..IF you schedule a backup. nothing auto by default good luck and welcome to tek-tips
