I am having trouble with 1 user who tells me when someone phones her direct number they get a "phone not in use" message or an unobtainable tone.
The user is set for ext mobility and her ext is set to ring another fixed ext phone when she is not logged in. I;ve tested all internal and external calls to that ext and all go through fine.
She admits this is intermittant but has tried is herself and confirmed this is what happens.

I've never heard of this "phone not in use message" before.

Is there anyway to trace all incoming calls to the ext so I might determine where the problem lies???
Or indeed what this issue may be due to??

Are the calls coming in from a PRI? I had an issue once where I cut a CallManager system in place of a Nortel PBX and there were specific options in the local Central Office switch setting for the PRI for a Nortel PBX. All my test calls in and out worked on the night of the cut but for a week after, incoming callers would occasionally get 'Number is not in service' type recordings on incoming calls. Once the CO changed the option, everything works great.

I'll look into it thanks, - this is the first insance we have had however and we have had call manager for 3 years....

During a cut over to a PRI the DID's are pointed to the PRI. When the number is called the central office will send a number of digits usually four. You then need to setup your internal range with the same four digit sequence or setup translations.

You can verify the line reaching your PRI by debugging
(debug isdn q931)

Call the number and watch the output. If your reaching the PRI than you need a translation if it is recalled out of service.
