Phone Manager Check for Update 1

I can't find any documentation on the "Check for Update" option under the Help menu in Phone Manager. I am speculating that perhaps this is used if you deployed Phone Manager via Active Directory? Am I on the right track here? Can anyone point me to documentation that I am missing? TIA.
 
Hi, thanks for the reply. I actually have that document, it is a great one. But my question is really on the "Check for Update" menu option, I am assuming it is active when Active Directory is used to deploy Phone Manager. Right now it does nothing, and the only documentation I can find on it says that it has to be setup by the System Administrator, which is me....and no matter how many times I ask myself, I still don't know the answer. :)

Any idea how to configure the "Check for Update" item?
 
None of the above. The folks at Avaya have trialled versions of Phone Manager that supported updating from a central web server without a poor engineer having to slog around every PC. Either you have a copy of that trial Phone Manager or they forgot to hid the option in a GA release.
 
The update button won't work as you think.
I think it will update the phonebook of the IPOffice.
So it will synchronize all the users in the network, with older versions you had to close the program and restart it.

Ok. Guess I missed that, thought I had been on just about all the trials. :(

Looks like they forgot to hide it in the Q4 maintenance release for 4.0. It is in the 4.1 release as well.
