Hi
We have setup a user on Phone Manager 2.1.16 VOIP using software VPN on windows XP machine at a remote site, to connect to our Avaya IP403. Initially is was running ok, but users at the office were complaining that the voice quality was poor, it wasn't as clear as say Skype. So I changed the compression type against the extension , and since the remote user sounds very, very faint, we can barely hear what he is saying. The compression it is running at the moment is G.729(a) 8K CS-ACELP . the remote user can hear us ok. I also adjusted the order on the user's Phone manager, no sure if this is causing the problem.
1. Please can you advise what is the preferred compression mode to be used in this situation, and if I need to adjust the Voice Packet size.
2. Also what is the preferred compression mode ordering on Phone manager.
Many thanks
