Hi Peeps,

If any one can assist with the following I would be extremely grateful. Here is some info. I went into system programming and got the system version : sp : 30meF02. The phone is an m7310

Here is the scenario. At the office we usually hook up phones to a phone spare phone jacks , and we ensure that wiring makes it to the phone block and thus the PBX system. Usually hooking up phones in this manner yielded good results. The phone got an extension we could then copy phone programming from another set. :)

On this particular instance we hooked up a phone. And it turned on, but when I do a feature *0 and press intercom button, there is no extension, it says 'Ring Again'. When I lift handset, it says 'no line selected'. Pressing feature * 0 and 'HandsFree Button Mute' says 'Saved Number'.

So I am guessing we need to do some programming the the PBX system allowing this phone to work.

Can any one provide some insight as to how to allow this. We have existing programming in phones that I can copy from, I just need the PBX system to give it an extension so then I can copy programming.

Thank you all.

You will have to by process of elimination figure out what the ext # is & than change the # of intercom paths from 0 to 1 or 2. The reason that you can not see the intercom # is because it has 0 intercom paths.

@pccal

Thanks for your response. Even if I do figure out what extension it is, how do I program in onto the phone. I looked extensively at the system programming and didn't see an option to set extension, or intercom paths. Where would I find those options?

Thanks

under terminal and sets, go to line access and then intercom keys and set it to 1 or 2 or just do a copy from a working ext.

WORK SMART NOT HARD

@stsguy

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping just to do a copy from a working ext, the problem is I don;t know what extension this phone is assigned or what extension it has so i can't copy programming to it.

Any idea how i can find extension?

also what norstar do you have

if you trace the cable back to the block and move it to an unused port, that could solve your issue

@phoneguy610
