We replaced toner cartridges and imaging units and still receive the same error. All contacts are clean and appear to be in working order. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
This error is caused by the small magnetic hammers that touch the window on top on the toner cartridge. Open the lid and push down on the cover interlock and you will see the carts move up and down. You will also see movement in the little window (towards back of cart). The amount of toner movement affects the magnet. If these flags stick or bounce too much, they give a tone cartridge missing or reseat message. There is a service bulletin that talks about this and the fix is quite involved--basically changing out the top cover frame--lots of labor and a 600 dollar part
Thanks for the info however we don't have $1000 for parts and labor. Is there anything we can do to overcome the problem? We're great with electronics and mechanics.
