Hi all

Have somehow created a file, (not a virus but from an application under development), that has no extension, has 0 bytes, cannot be opened, copied, renamed or deleted. [dazed]

Any recommendations for a removal utility, please?

TIA

Try logging on in safe mode and then delete the file. There may be some process running that is causing you not to be ableto in normal mode.

Try searching through the registry for points to the file and remove its keys. Then restart and try deleting it.

Ok, can you take ownership of the file and then delete it?

Tony

Assuming the file isn't Read Only.

Don't know how many characters are in the filename but if more than 8 try this. Run dir /x to display the 8.3 filename and try deleting the file using this name instead.

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!
