pextension in Dialplan? 1

Anyone,

in the Dialplan there's a possibility to assign digit-ranges to "pextension". What is it used for and how does it work? I looked it up in the manuals, but only found information on how to program things.

Hi Mcopini,

A pxetension is a "prefix extension" - the reason for a prefix is to identify the number as an extension. For example, if you assign 6 as a pextension in the dialplan and then dial 612345 the switch will process 12345 as an extension.

To be honest, I can't see any real use of this - especially as you cannot then use anything starting with a 6 for a tac,dac or fac.
