I need to set file permissions in XP 5.1. All of the illustrated instructions I have acquired show a different picture from what I see. They instruct me to right click the folder, choose 'properties' and click the security tab. This in turn shows a list of users and a list of permission types with check boxes.
But I don't see any of this. When I select properties there is no security tab, there are 3 tabs: general, sharing, and web sharing.
I desperately need to set these permissions; can someone tell me how?

Under Explorer, Folder Options, Disable "Use Simple File Sharing -- recommended"

Convert the volumes to NTFS.

Upgrade to Pro if you really need granularity in Folder security.

XP Pro. I found what it was. Another XP idiocy. Under folder options 'simple file sharing was checked' which takes all control away.

New Question
I have a WinXP Pro server and 4 Win98 computers. The users are login on the Win98 systems. How do I set up permissions for the differnet users?
