Hi

We have an nt 4 server setup at present and having problems giving new users full control to certain shared network drives. It seems users setup in the past can open documents to edit and change etc whereas new users can only open them as read only. The new users are also unable to create new folders at this level. The users are setup with full control (this will be downgraded soon) so why cannot they do as they wish ? Its a bit strange that someone with exactly the same permissions can do something that all the other users can't. None of the users are adminstrators.

I have tried copying the directory to another part of the network and the user can do everything, the permissions set are the same ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as we have never had this prob b4

Thanks
Colin

Is this a Share or are the permissions being set on the security settings of the folder itself? It could be that Full control permissions are in place on a share, but there's a restriction on the folder itself, or vice versa.

Cheers,
