Hi,

I've got a 3D Prophet 4500, a Pentium III 560 Mhz, 512 SDRAM, Intel 440 BX MotherBoard (2x agp), but in my opinion the video-performace isn't good.

I did benchmark-tests and they were appox. equal to the tests with my "old" Geforce 1!

I've installed the latest drivers, etc.

Perhaps my cpu is too low?
Has anyone have had the same problem?

THANKS

Your limited by what that 440BX chipset will do; your limited by what an AGP 2X slot will do; you also limited by your PENTIUM III 550 (100 MHz FSB).

The 350 megapixel per second fill rate figure the that's quoted for the Kyro II puts it behind the cutting edge, and dead even with Nvidia's popular GeForce2 MX chipset. The original GeForce 256 chipset has a 480 megapixel per second rating, and the GeForce2 GTS is specced for 800.

Theoretically, you should have seen SOME GAIN over your ORIGINAL GeForce 1.............

I would recommend that you check for the Latest drivers, NOT USING THE ONES THAT CAME ON THE CD-ROM that you got,,,,,,,
and then before you update INSTALL DirectX 8.1.

RUN SCANDISK....... RUN DEFRAG........ RUN REGCLEAN
then run the updates

Then benchmark..........

(Then debate on buying a Pentium 4, that is, if you want to see benchmarks that will run the latest games)
NEW CASE
NEW MAINBOARD
NEW CPU
NEW RAM
