Performance issues - troubleshooting CD problems

Is there a way to change CD performance settings in NTW? I have one machine with a fairly new CD drive that only has trouble with burned CDs. I'm not convinced there is anything wrong with the hardware, though I will be trying a new cable. In general, when the user tries to access large (30 mb) files on burned CDs, the drive just starts to spin. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Not really..Some makes of CD-ROMS will have trouble reading burned cd's. I find if I burn cds at a lower speed like double ,I get a much more accurate burn.
