percentage positioning

Hi,

I've got a table set to 100% width. There are three columns in the table. The far right and left columns (200px and 100px respectively) should remain the same pixel width no matter what. The middle column should expand to fill the remainder of the screen width (500px in 800x600, 724px in 1024x768 etc. etc.). Any ideas of what mix of percentage / pixel / allignment texchiniques would make this happen? Any help would be great.

Create a "pixelshim." That is, an image to shore up the table. Make it the same color as your background and insert into an empty cell in the left and right columns. Set the width to what you want, and that'll keep the left and right columns from changing size. I also use nested tables, as well and have those set to specific pixels (it makes it easier to add and remove information without changing the whole table structure).

Thank you so much for that handy tip. My website now looks exactly as I want in all screen resolutions - I cannot belive I finally managed it!!

I also can't believe it takes putting in an invisible image in to achieve it. Is this the only way?
