Percentage in Cross-tab reports

I am trying to show total billable hours as a PercentOfSum per activity type/individual and am getting error message &quot;The summary / running total field could not be created&quot;.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br><br>The fields are all custom fields created in the formula editors to allow for special groupings and such.&nbsp;&nbsp;This is being run on a SQL 6.5, using ODBC drivers from CR8.

I believe that in the multi-pass process used by SCR 8.0, the running totals are processed prior to the type of formulas you are using (formulas based on groupings). This is why you get the error. You will need to calculate your running totals using formulas rather than the &quot;Create Running Total Field&quot; editor.

That helped a little, but I still get that same error message. I hadn't been using the Running Total editor, I had been using the formula editor to no avail. Do you have some examples of formula that might work.

Also there is a posting from 5/4/00 that has a similar questions. From the sounds of it, this individual is having a similar problem, but stated a little different. Maybe we can kill two birds with one stone.

Sorry, I've been out of town for a few weeks, then working like crazy to catch up. Anyway, try something like this:
Sum({table.type}, {table.hours}) % Sum({table.type})
If this doesn't help, study the sum() function and the percent operator under &quot;Help&quot; or email me.
