i have a single group Succession 3 (opt 61) switch that "loses calls" in various stages. i have confirmed this on one 2008 set. here are a couple of the symptoms:

1)pick up handset, get dial tone, goes back to idle (with out hitting release button)

2)pick up handset, get dial tone, dial number (internal or external), call drops

it is random, and usually happens at least 1 out of 10 call.
there are no bug, err, or aud messages. i have a current deplist in the switch.

i am not yet sure if this is limited to one superloop, or is system wide. only a hand full of users have been complaining, most of them on loops 4-0 and 4-1. it happens on both cpu 0 and 1

i have started small, by swapping known good sets, rebuilding the set on different cards of the same loop.

i had a fair amount of PLL unlocks on 4 and 20. after failing some continuity tests between the network card 4 and the controller, i have swapped out both.

my next card in line is the PerSig.

my question is this: are both PerSigs active, or is it only active in the active core?

am i off base, or should i be looking at the 3PE for core 0?

If were gett PLLs and had chgd NET & Controller, I would certainly replace the cable between the two before moving forward.

1st guess would be the network then the controller.. both sides takes cni and persig out of the picture.. could be a cable.. never had that as a one out of ten problem.. usually all are nothing but don't rule it out.. i would make sure that every time it happened i got a call... thinking it;s confined to one loop may cause a misfire in the process... 1st choice. controller.. have you replaced and reloaded that?

i have replaced both the controller and network card so far. i plan on going out there today and blasting calls out from that one extension while running enhanced trace to see if i can find a pattern there. im still not sure if it is isolated to one loop, but is definitely on 2 controllers (loop 4-0 & 4-1, so its not looking like a cable

if it's on both 4-0 and 4-1, I would suspect the NET card.

ive already replaced the network card as well as one of the controllers

just anfyi for anyone who searches and this comes up. the persig fixed it
