I just bought an Evergreen Upgrade chip, the Performa766. It upgrades any Pentium II 266mhz and above to that speed. I swapped CPU's and everything seems to run fine. How can I test my computer's performance? For example, when I had my 333mhz PII, it was at "265,151 Dhrystones and 677,916 Mediastones" and now with my new Celeron II 766mhz, it states, "636,363 Dhrystones and 1,438,842." Can anyone (prof. tech) tell me if that's been an improvement?

Um, well, the numbers have gone up, so I'd imagine so has performance!

The real test is in using it - does it feel faster, or more responsive?

You don't say what tools you used to get your measurements, but I tend to use Sandra. My guess is you're using Winbench, which is another good tool, but somewhat esoteric.

If you want to get some nice, meaningful graphs of a wide range of performance areas, get a copy of Sandra (should turn up in any search engine)

Good luck!

Where do you get the Evergreen upgrade chip from I'm running a P II 300 and was wondering if it is worth it, I do alot of 3D graphics work on it.
